Gemcitabine
Gemcitabine is a chemotherapy drug used to treat various types of cancer. It belongs to a class of medications known as antimetabolites, which work by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.

How It’s Used:
Gemcitabine is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion, usually once a week or in cycles, depending on the type of cancer being treated.

- Low blood cell counts (increased risk of infection, bleeding, anemia)
- Flu-like symptoms
- Swelling (edema)
- Hair loss
Serious Risks:
- Severe bone marrow suppression
- Liver or kidney damage
- Lung problems (difficulty breathing)
- Allergic reactions
Precautions:
